6 weeks later

So it's been over 6 weeks since my last blog. You can only imagine the chaos I have gone through with trying to arrange our wedding ceremony. Well, here is a quick breakdown. Since November 2 (my last blog) we went with a new venue the owner was fabulous and would have the hall from 6pm to 130am. (In the city of chicago, that is great) everything included from food to decor. We started paying little by little every week or so. We had our license already and after this little setback he and took off to court and were going to get married. NOT. We were all dressed and ready to go and arriving at our location we were told our names were not on the appointment list. He became so irritated we left that courthouse & flew down the highway and made it in time to the next courthouse in the center of downtown chicago. He was determined, saying "This is bullshit! I'm ready, we're dressed, you're beautiful, someone is marrying us today"!
It was just he & I. We had no one to take our photo and the judge did it for us. Our "I do's" were said and we both broke out in tears as we kissed and became husband and wife. The judge asked us "how long have you been together"? He responded 10 yrs. Judge says "I can tell" may your marriage be blessed as the years you have already had together". This made our day.

At the end of the day I looked in the mirror and couldnt stop smiling because I was wearing exactly what I had invisioned myself (courtwise) from the getgo. We stopped at our place where we met and danced the night away with few friends & some family. The owner of the club sang to us "Everybody needs somebody to love". It was a great day.

So next day we were super excited and looking forward to our religious ceremony. A week later we get called from owner he must return our monies due to family emergency and he must leave country until April next year. WTF? who leaves their business unattended? Whatever, we got our money back and within a few days found a new place, reordered new invitations AGAIN with new venue & new date pushed to February 7th. It's now weeks later and little by little I have been ordering wedding favors, table runners, etc on ebay & amazon. My sister is still making my centerpieces. We have everything we need. NOT.. To this day our pastor has not returned our calls (yes we gave him deposit) for the past few days. This morning I called and his number is no longer in service. No way of getting a hold of him. WoW!! I have been on edge for the past few weeks because I am afraid that "WHAT IF" stage is taking over my mind. It feels like every single step we take going forward we end up getting pushed back further. WHAT is this all aabout? WHY does this keep happening to us? Is this a sign that we are NOT suppose to have a wedding ceremony?????  I don't understand.

I received the new invitations with rsvp and have prepared them all, but they are still sittting in the box. I am so nervous to send them out. I keep thinking something else is going to happen that we will end up looking light idiots. Well, the wedding is in approximately 47 days and we have a small balance to pay off in 30 days. I know we will make it. It's Christmas in just 4 days and rent, bills, daily needs are just making us bust out in arguments over the stupidest things. We end up looking at each other and just laugh & say (Well at least we're already married). He says "I love you so much I want to give you the wedding you deserve".  Hearing those words only make me love this man more than I can ever explain. We have been through thick & thin, sickeness & health & everything in between. I know OUR wedding will happen because "What god has brought together; let no man separate" NOTHING or NO ONE will prevent this from happening. We have come a long way & with all the setbacks we've had we still remain strong TOGETHER and our wedding will be just as we wished it to be plain & simple. He & I exchanging our vows in front of our family & closest friends on February 7, 2015 just like we've wanted from the beginning....

Till tomorrow............with love...... Neena44
