I was drinking my cup of coffee this morning and I walked over to the living room. To my surprise when I opened the blinds for that morning view. Wow was I surprised to see so much snow. Well, I shouldn't have been that surprised after all I do live in Chicago. Where the weather is completely bipolar.
Regardless, it was a beautiful scene. It made me think of this upcoming holiday of Christmas and previous ones. It was somewhat emotional. I began to think about this whole entire year of 2016. How fast it has just gone by and all that has happened.
I began thinking of all the people around me. The people who are less fortunate, homeless & struggling to get by. I couldn't help but to let my tears flow. The downstair tenants means of living. The poor helpless dog left outside next door in this snow. I couldn't stop crying and then it all hit me. It's that time of year again. HOLIDAYS. I know it's a wonderful festive time for most but it's also that time again for many who are without means; to become depressed.
Depression is hard as it is but for some reason when it comes to the holidays. It is harder to handle. So when you have a moment to spare take the time to ask all your loved ones, friends, family, neighbors how they are doing. A simple hello can brighten anyone's day. Share a meal with someone just because. Donate all those old items in your home you no longer have use for. Sharing is caring. Don't do it just to feed your conscience. Do it because it comes from your heart and you truly do care.
Here are a few places you can donate to. Toys for Tots , Donate a Coat
There are many places and organizations you can contribute to. Redmonds Pub has an offer of get a free beer for any sealed toy (no stuffed animals) drop of box for Toys for Tots also.
So take the time to think about others. We all struggle from time to time and maybe have too much pride to ask for help. So make someone else happy by simply reaching out and giving.
Happy Holidays everyone.... )0(
