WTF UPDATE !!

After my last blog, I had to write & let many know "I am still hanging in there." Thank You for your concern.  I've been so isolated that not too many people (especially family members) know what's going on, much less read my blogs, only the occasional text "To ask if I am out at a club?" LOL, besides I don't have time to be on the phone with them "trying" to explain to them WHY I am always at a doctor's office or hospital for treatments. It becomes tiresome & feels  as if I'm wasting my time explaining things they actually will have no clue to what it means, but YES I am scared & worried.

Here is what has happened in one week.

After being told by an endocrinologist  who was recommended to me by my manager to see her for Natural Remedies for Thyroid Diseases. She received my lab results from a month prior; by me obtaining them from my PCP who repeatedly told me ALL was fine) that my Sed Rate was 4 times higher than normal; this was alarming & that I needed to have further testing & treatments. ASAP, my worries began. Time to Demand a consult with PCP, appointment scheduled & she said everything was fine; never mentioning my sed rate, oxygen level or c-reactive all being abnormal. WOW.

Few more days passed with intense pain & consulting with my employer (being that I work for doctors) They helped me find a new PCP (also due to half my co-workers and I trying to obtain copies of an exam I had a week prior at an emergency room & from my pcp office. Most horrible experience ever.  The next day I visited the new doctor, who reviewed my lab results and was appauled that I was never informed of this & immediate attention is needed. he quickly examined me (which no other doctors did, at the ER or my PCP) ran more blood tests & put me immediately on Prednisone & am now scheduled with a surgeon this week for Temporal Biopsy .

A day after seeing the new pcp I received a phone call informing me that my new lab results were in & even higher than prior month & that they are very happy that I came to see them, and NO I will NEVER be returning to previous PCP. YES I am sick to my stomach, with my previous PCP who I thought was kind & considerate all these years (but somehow never really did any tests on me; perhaps she should be a psychiatrist instead of a general MD.) I am now being treated for (what I am hoping will not be permanent). RIGHT NOW my focus is on the TREATMENT. If all goes well. I will leave her medical license in God's hands not mine; IF things do not come out well. I think Chicago Medical Malpractice Lawyers  need to FIND ME..

Since I have been on the prednisone I do feel a bit of difference with some side effects I can handle. So when I say "I am tired" I am fighting as best as I can and putting on the best "pokerface" I can. I am down to wearing only one sweater now, always wearing my glasses, forcing myself to eat, supported daily by my co-workers (Thank you to ALL for reviewing the results & sending me to right doctor) and amazing emotional support through all this to my partner, my personal DJ .

So WOMEN I beg you, I encourage you, to ASK, TALK, DEMAND your doctor tell you, show you, everything you NEED to know. UNDERSTAND your thyroid, hormones, cycles, seek an Endocrinologist, So that you do not EVER have to end up with these pituitary-tumors that I am NOW most certain are brought on from years of SYNTHROID. Once I am done with this biopsy & treatments my NEW method of medication will be all HOLLISTIC & will be coming from armourthyroid . I have seen PERSONAL results on some individuals with this supplement & will be using it very soon.

Once again THANK YOU to everyone for everything. This is a scary thing for me but with all the great support and understanding from my NEW PCP, I will continue with a POSITIVE outlook on all of this...
