I know NO other way of titling this blog. I have so many questions regarding what I'm about to say, but they never seem to get answered.
I suffered from graves-disease years ago, did not want to have a scar on my neck so I chose the radiation treatment & was told the gland itself had been shrunken to the size of a pea (producing no hormones) was put on synthroid of 137mg & have been on for the past 8 years until a month ago. After suffering from side effects of Migraine headaches, Severe intolerance to cold, Lumpy shoulders, weight gain & extreme fatigue. I decided to go "Cold Turkey" and stopped the synthroid against medical advice. A co-worker who suffered the same switched from synthroid to armourthyroid a more natural product; needless to say she suffers NO side effects and has her thyroid levels under control. I spoke to my Dr. who did not support this alternative drug, so I seeked out an endocringologist who immediately put me back on synthroid at a higher dosage due to my weight gain. I give up. My migraines have returned in FULL FORCE which lead me to the ER only to be told I need to follow up with a neurologist; AGAIN. When you have had normal EEG's, preventative medication that does not work in stopping the episodes and only works at the duration WTF ? shouldn't this be a sign for the doctor to try another test???

If anyone who can relate to this blog or has any advice FOR ME on seeking a PCP who WILL help me with all this I will be MOST GRATEFUL. I am tired of getting nowhere with all these dam doctors who just send you off to another & another & another to pump you up with all the JUNK medication that leads you feeling worse than you did from the getgo.
I did read somewhere that Botox is being used as a treatment for Migraines; Is this a joke??? Or something I really need to look into? Before I do so & I know It may sound crazy but shouldn't any of the doctors that see me run an MRI on my head before I even consider the dam BOTOX? I just googled my symptoms and of course it comes down to my thyroid & an MRI of the pituatary gland is often ordered,,, Hmmm, after venting out all my frustration I think I have answered my own questions. NOW the next step is to actually see if my doctor will do so? If not & you do not see my blogging anytime soon it's most likely cause I just may have frozen to death or my head exploded from a migraine.
With that said I'm getting ready to put my "pokerface" on and go to work....
