Determination

So, after writing my blog yesterday on "Power or Sanity" I thank you to those of you who commented. It was really encouraging to read the comments, messages and emails. I wanted to let you all know the outcome.

 

I walked in the office to hear nothing but the "Gossip" happenings while I was away. I even wondered at one point why a particular staff member was "literally" being SUPER NICE. Hmmm, talk about "brown nosing".  So, I listened to her vent and thanked her for letting me know how she felt. A half hour later a second employee comes in with the same conversation. Boom, did I just do a 360? Ok, well I listened to her as well complain about the 3rd one. Ok, I thought "WoW" after listening to this I'm sticking to my decision and resigning but a little voice in my head kept telling me. WAIT I have an idea.  lol.

 

Once "The Boss" came in he greeted me with a great smile and immediately asked me "How I was feeling? Glad to have you back." Once he was settled in we went into Office and I began to tell him "My frustrations & concerns" re: Staff, workflow, pay issues, Etc. Well, I can't really go into extended details of the discussion but I will say that I am totally surprised at the result of the conversation.

 

A few major concerns were addressed and the next few weeks will ALL be up to me in how the entire office's issues will be dealt with. Hmmm, am I back on a power trip? NO.... I enjoyed the conversation that reassured me I AM doing a good job as the MANAGER and there is CONFIDANCE seen in me that I HAVE & CAN make a difference. 

 

Hearing these words (made me put my frustrations away and think about the WHOLE scenario of working) I have been in the medical field half my life & yes I DO know what I am doing and Yes I AM GOOD AT IT.  I am honored & grateful that "The Boss" has seen that.

 

NOW, as far as my staff. I spoke with one today & I have a strong feeling of that particular person; a good feeling that is. As far as the rest; well my future blogs will be interesting to read.  I have made a few simple changes already & that seems to have drawn some attention to "Shape Up". So, we shall see how this continues. I'm loving every minute of it and today I accomplished what takes others a whole week to do, this leaves them wondering.

 

So, today was productive; all by simply "COMMUNICATING" with the person that pays me to do what I'm suppose to do & I am DETERMINED not to let anyone or anything stop me from succeeding in a second goal I have set for myself...
