Family

I'm sure most of you, more like 95 %  of the universe all have this issue. It is the most common thing to have in every family. To those who say they don't are not as close as they believe to be.

Every family has problems. There will always be sibling rivalry; especially when there are a dozen of you in one home.  I would like to say that it's a Latino way of being family oriented when there are so many people living under one roof.  However it's not just our race. It's every race, every culture in every part of the world.  When you have so many relatives living together; yes you become close. How can you not?  You grow up with your brothers & sisters. The grammar schools, high schools, holidays, birthdays, barbecues gatherings mainly consisted of your cousins.  It was always a special gathering when you're kids. It was fun and those are the memories you have for a lifetime.

If you stop for a moment as you read this blog. What childhood memory are you remembering at this moment? Your brother? Sister? Mother, Father? Whomever it is it is a memory you have of FAMILY.  I'm sure not all memories are great but without those memories many of you would have an empty heart.

When you're close to your siblings they are your best friends. Seriously, think about every time you have had your heart broken. Who was the person that would hold you and say something silly or uplifting to get you through it? A family member.  When you've smoked your first cigarette or vomit from drinking too much; who was there by your side? A family member.  Of course either scolding you out or laughing at your ignorance nonetheless it was a family member.

Later in life when you're all grown up and have your own family. You always include your siblings because you want them to be part of your happiness. Well at least that is how I see it.  Don't get me wrong. Sometimes family may not be as tolerable as other times; that is a harsh truth. When all the bickering and frustration has been lifted the love for each other always remains.  It may take some time when hurtful comments, accusations, stupidity have occurred but in the end you always forgive because FAMILY love conquers all. Well, it should for many. 

To those siblings & parents who prefer to live a life without knowing anything of each other; will lose the meaning of forgiveness. Whatever issues any family members have towards one another; should be rectified before you never get the chance to do so again.

FAMILY: is what you started out with in this world. FAMILY is what you grow up with in life. FAMILY is snarking & bickering at each other yet ALWAYS being there for each other no matter what.  FAMILY is being the best parent you can be to your child/ren showing them what family love is all about.  FAMILY is loving each other through good times, bad times, poor times, rich times and making the best of each and every moment. 

So the next time you choose to NOT to be with family for whatever reason. The only person missing out on creating new family memories is you. Family is what brought us into this world. Family is who will be with us when we leave this world. Throughout your entire life the only thing that will always be significant is FAMILY.
